SHAGville Series
These homes were inspired by the works of Josh Agle, known in the art world as SHAG. His art transports us to a time that never was, but will always be. A place filled with dashing men, beautiful women, intrigue and hedonistic luxury, all throbbing to a pulsating jazz beat. It's that timeless time of Marilynn Monroe, James Bond, and the Rat Pack.
When I found SHAG's art, I became inspired. This home is part of a theme in which I intend to fill an entire neighborhood including lots for Downtown, Vacation Island, Old Town, Studio Town, and Magic Town. Enjoy.
In 1966-67 British actor Patrick McGoohan led a team of visionaries that brought us THE PRISONER. This 17 episode series explored the struggle between the indivdual and society. Number 6 (McGoohan) was a British Agent who suddenly retires and is whisked away to the surreal Village. The masters of the Village wish to know why Number 6 has retired and whether he would reveal the many secrets he possessed.
I found a skin of Number 6 on THE SIMS RESOURCE soon after I concepted SHAGville. I thought that if anyone embodied the spirit of SHAG's work, it was Number 6. Thus, I have attempted to recreate Number 6's cottage as faithfully as my memory served and within the confines of THE SIMS.
Without giving away too much of the series, let us just speculate that after Number 6's success at the Village, he married his fiancee and retired. And feel a slight morbid fondness for the scene of his greatest success, he built a duplicate of his cottage.
